In Maths this term we have been learning about FRACTIONS
I can find fractions of whole numbers like:
½ of 12 = 6 ⅓ of 9= 3 1/10 of 20=2
⅔ of 12= 8 ⅘ of 10= 8
I can recognise when a fraction is greater than 1:
½ + ½ + ½ = 1 1/2
⅓ + ⅓ + ⅓ + ⅓ = 1 1/3
7/4 = 1 3/4
I am a Year 7 student at Tamaki Primary School in Auckland, NZ. I am in Room 10 and my teacher is Ms Aireen.

MATERIALS:

- we used flax and pegs to hold the flax down when we’re weaving
PURPOSE:
(Why did we carry out these activities?)
- for our garden day the kete are used for collecting the vegetables
PROCESS:
(What we did).
- we listened to the instructions then we had to make a kete
- we had to split the flax and cut the tip into a point
- it takes sixteen pieces of flax for a kete
- then we started weaving the flax together
- it took three people, one to hold the flax, one to move the pegs and one to weave
WHAT WORKED WELL:

- we worked hard as a team

- sometimes we got in each others way, if we practise we would get better
WHAT THINGS DID YOU LEARN ?
- it wasn’t as hard as I thought when I found out there were three people in the group
- I couldn’t do the part where you had to put the flax under other flax.

I am 10 years old. I love playing sport because it gives me energy. I like learning and going to school to learn. You get smarter and smarter every day. I am the only girl out of my sisters that has a really cool school. In my spare time I like to go to the park with my friends and go to the pools.I have been coming to this school for 3 Years now and my best friend Petra,Ray.
